Oman vs Namibia: Namibia Wins Unbelievable Super Over by 11 Runs in 3rd Match of T20 World Cup 2024

Oman vs Namibia square off in the third ICC T20 World Cup match 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Namibia defeated Oman in a dramatic super over on Sunday. The Namibian hero was David Wiese, who scored 13 runs in Namibia’s super over 21 runs before holding Oman to 10 runs to secure the win.

At Kensington Oval, the match proceeded to a super over following an exhilarating low-scoring encounter in which Oman was bowled out for 109.

After Oman’s Mehran Khan produced an outstanding bowling display that saw them end on 109-6 and set up the super over drama, Namibia’s run chase eventually collapsed.

Namibia had earlier chosen to bowl first after winning the toss. With four wickets, including two off his first two deliveries, Ruben Trumpelmann helped Namibia defeat Oman for 109 all out in 19.4 overs.
With the first delivery of the encounter, South African-born fast bowler Trumpelmann trapped opener Kashyap Prajapati’s leg before wicket for a golden duck. A few moments later, he removed Oman captain Aqib Ilyas for a duck with a toe-crusher.

Zeeshan Maqsood survived the Namibian fast bowler’s hat-trick ball, but Oman had little time to recover as Trumpelmann took his third wicket in the third over, putting them down three runs.
Naseem Khushi tried a bold slog over mid-off, but Gerhard Erasmus quickly grabbed him after he failed to connect cleanly. With a quick 22 off 20 balls, Maqsood stabilized the ship for Oman, but his meek resistance ended when he was leg before wicket by Bernard Scholtz, as Namibia’s choice to bowl first at the Kensington Oval continued to pay off.

As in Oman vs Namibia’s match, Namibia’s spinners exploited a meek Oman batting lineup, and wickets kept falling. Erasmus removed Ayaan Khan and Mohammad Nadeem, leaving the Gulf state at 78-6.
After dismissing Tangeni Lungameni for two legs before the wicket, Trumpelmann claimed his fourth wicket, concluding with stats of 4-21 off four overs. Of the Namibian bowlers, Trumpelmann was the best, although David Wiese also looked impressive with 3-28 off 3.4 overs.
