Due to the no result of the match between Sri Lanka vs Nepal, South Africa became the first team to qualify for the Super 8 stage, but the match was washed out in Florida due to rain.

Rain in Florida caused the match between Sri Lanka vs Nepal in the T20 World Cup 2024 to be called off without a toss. After both teams received a single point, South Africa advanced to the Super 8 stage as the first team, while Sri Lanka is currently in danger of being eliminated.

The match between Sri Lanka vs Nepal was on Wednesday in Lauderhill, Florida, and they are both keen to win so they can continue their T20 World Cup campaign. The 2014 winners, who have lost two straight games and have a dismal Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.777, are presently mired at the bottom of Group D.

Sri Lanka suffered a heavy defeat against South Africa in their opening match. Sri Lanka was bundled out for their lowest-ever T20 score of just 77 runs. South Africa chased down the target comfortably, losing only 4 wickets.

The Netherlands chased the target comfortably, with Max O’Dowd’s unbeaten half-century leading the way. Their second match against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain. This means the match result was not decided, and no points were awarded.

Unfortunately, Nepal hasn’t yet had a chance to showcase its full potential due to the rain.
